A lunch series for data leaders in commodities, hosted by General Index
Ahead of the Curve is a regular lunch series hosted by General Index. It brings together the people responsible for commodities market data, so they can compare notes and get to know each other away from the conference floor.
Each lunch gathers a small group of data and technology leaders from market leaders, from Chief Data Officers and heads of data strategy to the market data and data management teams who deliver it. Guests come from energy companies, hedge funds and leading consulting firms.
There are no slides and no sales pitch: just a good lunch and an open conversation. The discussion is held under the Chatham House Rule, so guests can speak freely and take the ideas home with them.
AI is moving data from a cost line to a source of competitive advantage. We'll explore what that means for strategy, teams and investment in commodities, and let the conversation go wherever the table takes it.
What it takes to get licensed data, internal data and history into shape for AI tools and agents.
How leaders are deciding what to own, what to license and who to trust.
The skills, structures and budgets that data strategy will need.
