We’re excited to announce that General Index (GX) has raised a $10 million Series A extension round, led by Molten Ventures, to accelerate our mission of transforming global commodity and energy pricing through transparent, technology-driven solutions.

This new investment will help us expand our product offering, enhance our technology platform, and drive innovation across global energy and commodity markets, making pricing more accessible, compliant, and efficient for all participants.

Transforming Commodity Pricing for a New Era

Founded in 2020 by Neil Bradford, General Index was built to bring fairness, transparency, and innovation to price reporting. Our leadership team has decades of experience scaling successful businesses in energy data and financial markets, and we’re applying that expertise to modernize how prices are created and shared.

By offering a technology-first alternative to traditional price reporting agencies, General Index delivers transparent and compliant pricing data for energy and commodity markets. We now produce over 5,000 daily benchmarks across crude oil, natural gas, refined products, and LPG - and we’re rapidly expanding into emerging sectors such as carbon, hydrogen, and biofuels.

Already trusted by Bloomberg, BP, and ICE, General Index is well positioned to become a leading global benchmark provider as demand for transparency, automation, and data-driven insights continues to grow in this multi-billion-dollar sector.

Partnering with Molten Ventures

We’re thrilled to have Molten Ventures join us as an investor and partner in this next phase of growth. Their deep experience in energy data and technology aligns perfectly with our vision to reshape the global pricing ecosystem. With their support, we’ll continue to scale our operations and technology to meet growing market demand.

Fuelling the Next Stage of Growth

The investment will enable us to to expand further into energy transition markets such as carbon, hydrogen, and sustainable aviation fuel, while supporting the development of GX Go to enhance access to real-time, transparent data.

As energy markets evolve and new asset classes emerge, we believe GX is uniquely positioned to become the next global leader in commodity and energy data. We’re excited to support their journey and look forward to working closely with the team as they scale.”
