General Index (GX), the commodities pricing provider based on the most data, has announced Diane Charnock as Chief Product Officer after 3 years within the company in strategy and corporate development roles, based in the firm’s London headquarters.
Diane brings 15 years of experience in the information services and energy space, having previously worked in consulting at Argus Media, Fastmarkets and Wood Mackenzie.
Originally joining GX in 2022 as Chief of Staff to the CEO, Diane has been a fundamental part of the leadership team – later being promoted to VP Corporate Development where she managed key relationships such as Bloomberg.
During her time managing the Bloomberg relationship, she led the GX team to form strategic agreements to distribute both key oil prices as part of {BOIL<GO>} and voluntary carbon indexes.
Diane reflected on her appointment: “Reflecting on the last 3 years since I joined GX, it's incredible to see how far we've come. From launching new benchmarks and expanding our coverage (now over 4000 indexes and counting), to partnering with industry leaders such as Bloomberg on revamping their BOIL service, seeing ICE launch 14 GX-based contracts including most recently in US Crude, and this year launching our brand-new platform GX Go. It's been a whirlwind - and we've only just begun!
I am incredibly proud of everything the team has achieved and honoured to have been a part of it. Going forward, I am excited to work with our index and product teams around the world as we continue to innovate and redefine how the energy markets access commodity data.”
