General Index (GX), the world's first tech-driven benchmark provider, today announced that Flint Hills Resources, a leading US refining and chemicals company and subsidiary of Koch, has become a GX customer.
Flint Hills Resources operates major refining assets in Minnesota and Texas and is one of the largest independent refiners in the United States. The company will use GX price data to strengthen its trading analytics, including refining margin models, refined product and feedstock analysis, and forward curves.
The agreement follows an extensive evaluation by Flint Hills Resources' trading analytics team, which tested GX data across US and European refined product markets. The partnership reflects a growing appetite among leading energy companies for greater competition, transparency, and innovation in commodity price reporting, including the use of benchmark data in AI and machine-learning applications.
"Flint Hills Resources is exactly the kind of forward-thinking company we built General Index for and we're proud they chose us. We look forward to growing this partnership as their use cases expand from analytics into new areas." Neil Bradford, CEO, General Index
