General Index (GX) is a commodity benchmark provider based on the most data. We produce over 4,700 daily energy prices - in crude oil & refined products, biofuels, hydrogen, and carbon markets - which our clients use to make critical energy & investment decisions. GX’s unique approach collates thousands of trades from 225+ data partners and applies expert-designed algorithms based on detailed methodologies to calculate prices. GX benchmarks are robust, consistent and compliant with IOSCO and FCA requirements.

With offices in London, Krakow, Houston, and Singapore, GX continues to expand rapidly and is now hiring a Head of Sales to support our next phase of growth.

About the role

We are seeking an ambitious Head of Sales to lead our global sales team, reporting directly to the CRO. You will be responsible for delivering our ARR targets across all verticals, shaping and executing our go-to-market strategy, and driving adoption of GX benchmarks worldwide.

This is both a strategic and hands-on role: you’ll set the direction for the team, lead enterprise-level deals, and ensure we consistently exceed revenue goals.

  • Lead, manage, and coach a high-performing global sales team.
  • Own revenue growth across energy, financial services, and consulting/data provider verticals.
  • Shape and execute outbound, inbound, and partner-led go-to-market strategies.
  • Personally lead and close complex, multi-threaded enterprise deals.
  • Maintain accurate forecasting and pipeline management in CRM.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Product, and Customer Success to optimize lead generation, product-market fit, and client outcomes.
  • Monitor competitive activity and market trends to refine sales strategies.
  • Recruit, onboard, and retain top-tier sales talent.

You offer

  • Proven track record of leading high-performing sales teams in market data, energy, or financial services in modern GTM teams.
  • Strong experience selling to enterprise accounts with complex stakeholder environments.
  • Commercially strategic with hands-on deal leadership skills.
  • Familiar with modern GTM practice, with deep experience using tools like HubSpot, Gong, Apollo and LinkedIn Sales Navigator.
  • Deep understanding of commodity markets and pricing data is a strong advantage.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-growth scale-up environment.
