About the Role
Reporting to the VP, Asia, the Senior Pricing Analyst will:
- Lead and own daily assessment of assigned commodity market(s), including examining the integrity of the underlying data used for assessment and ensuring correct methodology is applied to produce published indexes
- Proactively monitor, interpret, and advise on market developments that could impact pricing or require updating/amending underlying methodology for pricing assigned market(s)
- Cultivate and manage senior-level strategic relationships with traders/brokers and other relevant market participants
- Lead market intelligence efforts, providing expert analysis and actionable strategic insights on market trends that impact prices through the use of in-house data, analytics tools and contact with market
- Drive data sourcing strategy, identifying and securing new high-value data partnerships to underpin current and future GX indexes
- Act as subject matter expert and strategic partner to the commercial team, driving market presence and adoption of GX data
- Lead cross-functional initiatives to identify, develop, and launch new indexes and product enhancements.
- Champion AI integration across team workflows, building scalable and replicable processes.
- Mentor and support junior analysts, sharing domain expertise and contributing to a high-performance team culture.
This is a senior-impact role offering the opportunity to shape GX’s presence in Asian commodity markets, lead high-visibility initiatives, and drive the strategic development of our product offering
About You
- A BA/BS is required, with preference for academic subjects grounded in logic and analytical expression. 5+ years of experience in commodity pricing, market analysis, or a closely related field is required
- Proven track record of managing and deepening senior-level relationships with data providers and market contacts in the trading community.
- Solution driven, naturally curious, possess a high level of numerical ability, and are proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Accuracy and attention to detail are exceptional
- Clear communicator with confidence and ability to present and articulate a topic clearly
- Deep expertise in commodities markets, with the ability to apply pricing mechanics confidently and independently in complex, fast-moving environments
- Committed to consistently demonstrate professionalism with colleagues, customers, data providers, and the public to positively represent GX
- A commitment to understand and demonstrate GX’s core values
- Experience mentoring or guiding junior colleagues is an advantage
